Child Fatality Review Board

The Fayette County Child Review Board meets annually to review deaths of persons 17 and under. County Child Review Boards were created to decrease the incidence of preventable deaths by promoting cooperation between groups that serve children. In our county, the Fayette County Health Commissioner is the chairman of the Board. The Fayette County Coroner, Director of Children Services, Deputy Coroner, Fayette County Sheriff, Paint Valley ADAMH Board Executive Director, and a Public Health Representative meet annually to discuss any deaths of children 17 and under. The Board makes recommendations on how some deaths could be prevented by public education and working with other agencies that serve children.
